Broadspire - Claim Review from Huai Khwang, Krung Thep
I have been dealing with Broadspire for the last two years without a attorney. I feel very fortunate because they have paid all medical to date my compensation checks are paid up to date and I just received the final lump sum buy out.
I contacted a attorney firm know to deal with long shore maritime claims and asked them to handle the final portion. I am very comfortable with the lump sum amount but they said the only way they would take the case is if we went for more money. She said it will take a few months and I can't guarantee you anymore money but she didn't want to leave anything on the table. The attorneys in DBA cases get paid for only the hours they spend on the case not a percentage so the longer they can drag your case out the more they will make.
I would recommend anyone to try and deal with the ins company's on your own at first. The attorneys will tell you that you might say something that will loss your case. But in reality as long as you have a legit injury and are honest what is there to worry about and if nothing else you can always get a attorney on down the road as long as you have not settled or closed the case. An attorneys best interest is to create problems with your case so he can drag it out and make more off the case.
I had a friend that had basically the same injury as mine but he choose to hire an attorney right off the bat. He was bragging about how much she cared about him and his family and that she would even called him on thanksgiving to give him an update on his case. He also said that he would talk with her on weekends as well but Little did he know that she was also charging holiday rates and weekend rates for the calls. Long story short he had nothing but problems.
The attorneys will get their money even if it's two, five or ten years down the road. If they work on a case for ten years imagine what the legal fees that have built up. The attorneys will have you thinking these people are pure evil but in my case things went very smooth.
I read where one attorney stated not to let the case worker accompany you while talking with the Dr.
Why? My case worker accompanied me on my first visit and when we walked out she said that she would contact the ins. And have the surgery scheduled asap per the Dr. Recommendations.
Had she not have gone in with me I'm sure that it would have been drawn out.
This has been my experience with Broadspire without a attorney maybe I was just lucky but if I had it to do over again I would do everything the same.
Good luck with it

Broadspire treats me and my pain clinic Dr. terrible!
I was one of the first who was put with Broadspire, (started with Crawford and Company) when Crawford created the company. I have been harassed by them, ever since.
Last winter, they cut off all my meds for three months. Before that and since, they make my Dr. from the Pain Clinic, call and talk to to them to explain WHY I need these meds. Every month!
The meds don't change. And my Dr. will call and they don't answer. He leaves messages, and they don't call back.
I NEVER get my meds right away. They make it so I get my meds, finally, one, two , three, or more weeks late. This way they save a lot of money in a year. They care nothing of what they put me through.
I hate this company, for what all they have done.
It's illegal yet, there seems to be nothing my atterney can accomplish with them. If you are going through something like this, feel free to email me at joanbennett1552@***.com
Worst Company EVER!
Broadspire is absolutely the WORST company I have ever dealt with. I had just bought a new car and was t-boned by another truck that was a maintenance vehicle insured by Broadspire. When I tell you that this piece of *** company made it difficult for me to resolve this issue, I am being literal. The "driver" that hit me had an invalid drivers license which had expired months before he hit me. Even still, Broadspire sent me some *** contract that stated that nor Broadspire or their driver is not at fault and in order for me to have any of my damages repaired, I have to sign their "agreement" which stated that I was at fault and I will not sue them or their driver for damages to my vehicle or myself. In this contract they offered me $585... My damages cost over $3,000...
I did not sign their contract and YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER! Fight them back and do not take less than what you feel is FAIR.
Eventually they gave up and gave me what I needed to repair my car back to its original state, but it was not easy (The entire process took over 2 months). If you choose to fight them be aware that they will not return your calls or emails and will try to get you to settle on some insulting amount.
I could elaborate about several other instances but I don't want to stress myself out more than I already have by simply typing this complaint.
Too sum up Broadspire in a few words: unprofessional cheapskates and scammers. I do not understand how this company is legitimate.
Good luck, you're going to need it.
Broadspire wouldn't respond to me
I made a trip cancellation claim with my credit card company, who contracted out to Broadspire to handle the claim. My claims adjuster rejected my claims, needless to say, and when I tried to call her on several occasions to discuss the details of the claim she never picked up the phone.
I left countless voice mails, and numerous emails but to no avail. Her manager is just as bad at responding to calls.
I have a day job so I can't be sitting at home and spamming her work phone just to catch her attention. It's been several weeks now and I don't know what else to do except to turn to public forums to voice my displeasure at their terrible customer service.
If anyone is interested I will be happy to provide my claims adjuster name and her manager's name.
Getting the run around!!!!!
This company is *** me off. I have an open medical claim and i haven't used this open medical in years.
i started having problems with my hands on which i have a case about but after the doctor diagnosed me with trigger thumb they denied me so since there's nothing else to be done the money set aside for my open medical i'm trying to get I've spoken to a lawyer and was told that I could get this money but this company is being a butt about it.
Rick Jacobs the adjuster talks out of both sides of his mouth, I've been dealing with this issue for months. They act like it's their money that I'm asking for.

Review from Washington, Missouri
I agree I was injured at my work also and was taken off work because the injury I sustained required restrictions and my job could accompany it. I was in physical therapy for over 4 months and this is before they allowed me to have an MRI.
After the MRI results came back it showed that my lumbar part of my spine was injured and I have sciatica. They denied everything my pt doctor prescribed me such as water therapy, pillow, anything that the doctor asked for they denied. My GM of the job informed me that as long as I was under restriction that the job could not a blige them. It took them almost 2 months before I received a check and it was not the right amount.
It was the wrong amount so all that money went to back bills and I still had bills remaining. I have 3 small kids and I can't bend stand sit or anything without pain. Once they have me my MRI they stopped treating me regardless of what the MRI said.
I haven't been seen since March until this past July for an impairment rating and I was told I would get help at this appt still no help. The doctor ended up sending me to the emergency room for more x rays and it's been a month and I still have no results. I'm still in tremendous pain and they keep giving me the run around about treating me.

Insulation for Companies not wanting to pay claims and stay out of the loop
Broadspire appears to sell their services to companies as a TPA to save them money. Claims seem to be slow played with redundancy request until they say, sorry were are not paying.
The Broadspie employees are poorly paid, often work from home and lack technical skills, treating you as the "child(ren) left behind" matter of factly telling you after time how is it or won't be done.
Give them a time frame and if there are non-responsive, don't wait just file on them if you are confident of your claim. This is the only way to get anything accomplished with their buffering between you and the company that hired them.

Wage compensation
Broadspire is the slowest moving and most unscrupulous insurance company I have ever encountered. They intentionally ignore their phone calls in a passive aggressive manner designed to discourage and dishearten their claimants.
Their representatives and supervisor are rude and carefully trained to believe that the claimant is not ever entitled to payment. They demand redundant documentation for the same opinions and events in an effort to stall and avoid paying their claims. They then employ ridiculous wait and review periods in an all out effort to avoid deny what they owe.
They cannot be depended on to compensate you during your time of need. Avoid this company at all costs.

I have been dealing with Broadspire insurance for over 4 years. I was severely injured and due to the nature of bad faith tactic's workman's compensation companies I got a lawyer immediately.
I have been followed on numerous occasions even though my injuries have irrefutable evidence. They do this to try and cancel your claim and to intimidate you and lower your quality of life. I received a very large medical claim in arbitration and now that I require surgery they have denied my doctors recommendation for surgery and refused/ignored the doctors reports and documentation in my medical record. Even on days that I feel well enough to go out for a *** to eat I rarely leave the house.
I am constantly being monitored by private investigators who are trying to find any reason possible to deny my medical benefits and attempt to fraudulently claim fraud. The fraud is on their side but do to the billions of dollars these companies have fighting them in court is a no win situation. The hire shady doctors who have treated me with disrespect and are biased in their conclusions. If you are currently on survellance beware that with new technologies like stingray they can monitor your location on your cellphone and use fake towers to receive information from your cellphone.
Buy a temporary phone monthly if possible so they cannot violate your privacy.
Very dishonest company that is not concerned about your injury or suffering but only to maximize their profits. Beware!!!!
